Anointed for Breakthrough!

The power of the anointing for breakthrough is already in you through the power of the Holy Spirit if you have Christ in you. In the Old Testament, we see the power of the Holy Spirit coming upon people (1 Samuel 10:1-6). But through Jesus Christ, we have the anointing within us (Colossians 1:27; 1 John 2:27). The word Christ means the Anointed One and His anointing. Is the anointing operating in and through you? The same anointing that was on Jesus is the same anointing we have and can tap into it through faith to activate it and operate in a realm of perpetual breakthroughs. “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me because He has anointed Me, to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Luke 4:18 – 19

Jesus not only came to save, heal, and deliver others, but He came for us as well! We do not have to walk in poverty of spirit, finance, relationship, etc. He came to heal our broken hearts. He came to proclaim liberty to us so that we can walk in the freedom that He came to give us (Galatians 5:1; John 8:36 ). Jesus doesn’t want only to restore physical vision but spiritual sight to see in the spirit.

Let’s look at King David and his breakthrough in 2 Samuel 5:17 – 21. David had a destiny, and he had three anointings. The 1st was the prophetic anointing when Samuel anointed him. The 2nd was the priestly anointing, where he served in the palace and learned protocol. And the 3rd was the kingly anointing where he was anointed king over Israel. When the Philistines saw that he was anointed as king, they came against him.

It is encouraging to know that everything we have ever gone through has never been put to waste, but God has used all these things and brought us to this time and place of anointing. We also have these three anointings, but the assignment is for a specific time. While we are waiting to step into the assignment with our anointing, we are being trained by the Lord so we will be able to handle it.

We need to pray with the prophecy and promise God gives us and then walk in radical obedience. Sometimes we stand still, but sometimes He declares a matter, but it won’t happen until we partner with Him. We need to have prosperity of soul to carry the Blessing, so its weight doesn’t work against us, e.g., like when someone receives a financial blessing by winning the lottery and can’t handle it and spend it all (3 John 2). We must align with God in all areas of our life so the Blessing can flow to us.

Now is the right time for the kingly anointing and the breakthrough from the enemies that have tried to keep you from your destiny. David renamed the place where he defeated the Philistines Baal-Perazim, which means anointed to breakthrough! Each time the Philistines came against David, he asked the Lord God what he should do. He did not just take it upon himself to follow the previous plans where he had been successful. So it is also vital for us to ask the Lord each time before the battle what we should do. We don’t battle in our own strength, but the battle belongs to the Lord (2 Corinthians 10:3 – 5; 2 Chronicles 20:15).

The anointing destroys the yoke and removes burdens (Isaiah 10:27). God wants to be our provision, to heal the deep wounds in our hearts, to set us free so that we can walk in complete freedom and restore our ability to see. We must align with God in all areas of our life so the Blessing can flow to us. This month we are going to dig deeper into inner healing and deliverance.

Keys for breakthrough

Meditate on the Word of God and allow it to cleanse and transform you by renewing your mind (Romans 12:2; Ephesians 5:25-26; Psalm 51:1-10). The foundation of our beliefs must be the Word of God which is truth (John 17:17). God’s Word purifies our thoughts and motives as we meditate on it and obey its truths (Hebrews 4:12).

Stay connected and abide in Him depending on Him constantly (John 15:4-5). We can come into His presence in any way we feel, i.e., with fear, anxiety, etc., but we should not leave the same way. We are changed in His presence and transformed from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Exercise and walk-in authority He has given us (Luke 10:19).

Live a lifestyle of being immersed in the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18; John 14:16-17).

Pursue the gifts of the Spirit to fulfill your calling (1 Corinthians 14:1). Live what you are called to do and not what you can do.

Be a friend of God motivated by heart and values, not accomplishment. Live a life that is pleasing to Him, learning how to display the life of Christ.

Welcome the mind of Christ and walk in the wisdom of God. Declare what God has said about you over your life.

Live life with a perspective of heaven to earth.

We don’t always know why things work out differently from praying or believing they should, but we trust God works everything out for our good (Romans 8:28). The enemy uses delay and deception to convince us to believe a lie and to give up before we get our breakthrough. We don’t change our belief system because we had a bad experience. We know in part, and we prophesy in part. We may not always understand. God is faithful! His Word still heals and delivers today.

Do you have a healing plan? Ask the Lord what you need to do to receive your healing, then do it. It may be getting healing scriptures from the Word in your heart by meditating on them and declaring them over your life. It may be listening to teaching He directs you to or going to a healing or deliverance service or conference. Perhaps it may be getting some counseling on inner healing and deliverance. Some may need a different diet and exercise to get in shape to strengthen your body for the days God has assigned for you.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You that Your anointing is at work in our lives, destroying every yoke of bondage, setting us free. Thank You for the finished work of Christ on the cross. Help us follow the Holy Spirit’s leading and obey Him as we partner with You to destroy every enemy in our lives. Father, I send Your Word to bring healing and deliver from destruction to all who are reading this today according to Psalm 107:20. Thank You that by Your stripes, Lord Jesus, we are healed and that You are our Deliverer. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for your anointing. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
