Victorious Love!

Love originates in God because He is love (1 John 4:7-10). God’s love is unconditional, everlasting, and motivated by His grace. Because God loves us, He wants us to live in peace with Him and to receive eternal life so that we can live with Him forever and experience abundant life now (John 3:16; 10:10). But our sin separates us from God. It entered humankind through the disobedience of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and has been passed on ever since (Romans 3:23; 5:12). However, God had a plan so that we could have peace with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1; 6:23).

Jesus is God the Son, who came in the flesh and revealed God exists (John 1:14; Colossians 2:9). He is God’s love gift to all of us to reunite us to the relationship with God the Father. God created us to have a relationship with Him and wants to be with us so much that He gave His Son to die to restore us to that relationship.

God’s love is victorious because He has redeemed us through His Son Jesus Christ, blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, and given us everything we need for life and godliness (Ephesians 1:3, 7; 2 Peter 1:3). Furthermore, Jesus defeated Satan and the power of death that held us in bondage and gave us everlasting life (Hebrews 2:14-15; 2 Timothy 1:10; Revelation 1:8).

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. 2 Corinthians 1:20

And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. Colossians 2:13 – 15

The reason that God sent Jesus is that He is madly in love with us. We don’t have to earn His love or be worthy of His love. The starting place to receive God’s love, forgiveness, and the everlasting and abundant life He wants to give to us is through His Son Jesus.

So, I want to provide you with this wonderful opportunity to ask Jesus into your heart and life to be your Savior and Lord. The Bible says that whoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved and that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9-10, 13). If you confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

If you would like to experience the love of God and to have peace with Him through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, pray this suggested prayer out loud right now. You can also pray in your own words. Remember, it is not words or prayer alone that will save you. Prayer is a way to reach out to the Lord and must be done in faith (completely trusting in Him to save you). Christ will save you if you pray these or similar words in faith.

Heavenly Father,

Your Word says that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Therefore, I ask You to forgive me for my sins. I repent of my sins, turn from them and turn to You. I am calling on You and ask Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over my life. I believe that Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for me. I believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead, and He is alive today. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me the Holy Spirit to live inside of me. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and Your healing power in my life. I now belong to You. Help me to live for You and obey You all the days of my life.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

If you prayed for salvation in faith, you are now a child of God and are in His family (John 1:12; Romans 8:16). Go to my website and check out some steps on how to grow in your relationship with Him!

Our journey with God begins with His love. He was motivated by love from the beginning because even while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). So wherever you are in your walk with God and whatever is going on in your life, whether you face financial struggles, serious illness, rejection or victimization, etc. I pray that you would have a revelation of God’s victorious love and grace. He can bring a new beginning to every area of your life!

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Ephesians 1:17 – 23

That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height – to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17 – 19

Our heavenly Father wants us to be victorious and paid a heavy price to make us victorious. No loving father would ever want his children to lose. God wants us to win every time (Luke 10:19). Every time we partake in Holy Communion, we celebrate and remember His victorious love (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). So, let’s praise and thank Him today for His love that has also given us the victory!

Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 2 Corinthians 2:14

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

Yet, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37 – 39

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20 – 21
