Here we are in December and almost at the close of another year. This year may not have turned out as we expected, but what we have gone through has not been a waste of time, nor did we lose time. We have been walking out meaningful times and seasons of our lives this year, 2020, as God was preparing us for the next season. It was an investment, and I hope you have used this time wisely (Ephesians 5:15-17). This month we will go back and look at what the Lord has been teaching us during this past year and put it all together as we look forward to what He has for us for the future.
We need to discern the times and season we are in and the right prophecies for today. As prophetic people, we need to focus on what God is doing and saying and seeing things from God’s perspective. Speaking out what God reveals through prophetic discernment has the power to heal and deliver. God’s thoughts are not our thoughts nor His ways our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). It is the Holy Spirit who brings revelation and helps us discern between right and wrong, good and evil, and hearing His voice versus others (1 Corinthians 2:10-12; Hebrews 5:14; John 10:27).
Let’s look at the four Greek words referring to time used in the New Testament. (See Strong’s Concordance and Thayer’s Greek English Lexicon of the New Testament).
- Aion – age, eternity, everlasting, world without end; referring to the eternal nature of God who created time (Hebrews 1:8)
- Chronos – normal passing of time, days to weeks, to months, to years, i.e., chronological time, space of time, season, and an indication of a delay or a long time; (Galatians 4:4; Luke 20:9; John 5:6)
- Kairos – the right time, an opportune time, set time (Acts 17:26)
- Hora – the “now” time of God, an hour, season, a specific set time or moment (John 2:4-5; 4:23; Matthew 8:13)
In her book “Discernment,”1 Jane Hamon discusses that most of our daily lives are spent in Chronos doing our daily activities. When Chronos time is delayed, things can shift through a kairos moment described as a “suddenly”! God is preparing us in chronological time, which is a process of growth, change, etc. We are not losing or wasting time but investing! We walk through these processes, and then we come to a kairos moment when heaven and earth converge. It is the right time and place to receive God’s favor, breakthrough, and refreshing or revival.
We began this year with a call from the Lord to awaken from our sleep and come into alignment with God’s kingdom and our kingdom assignment. To put off the works of the flesh, live for Christ, walk in the light, and be the salt and light in the world (Ephesians 5:8-14; 1 John 1:5-7; Matthew 5:13-16). The Lord is calling His church, the body of Christ, to awaken to the things of the Spirit and His kingdom (Http://alexiscarucci.com/2019/12/30/awaken/). The following verse shows us how kairos and hora are connected.
And do this, knowing the time (kairos), that now it is high time (hora) to awake out of sleep; for now, our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent; the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. Romans 13:11 – 14
But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you, yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say,” Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore, let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. 1 Thessalonians 5:1 – 6
During this past year, we saw how God wants to bring restoration. God is a restorer of all things. He wants to restore His relationship with us and give us peace, joy, health, provision, etc. God restores all things! Https://alexiscarucci.com/2020/01/08/god-restores-all-things/
We are to awaken, anticipate, and advance. Awaken to purpose and worship. Now is the time to worship (Psalm 95). Our praises enthrone God and dethrone the enemy (Psalm 22:3).

God is calling us to awaken to our identity as Zion. We are Zion, which represents the place that God has chosen to dwell. His presence and the glory of God is there. It is a place of abundant provision, salvation, and Blessing (Psalm 132:13-16). Awake Zion and contend for revival. Https://alexiscarucci.com/2020/08/12/awake-zion/
You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come. Psalm 102:13
We are to anticipate and get ready and prepared for a tremendous outpouring of His Spirit, bringing in a great harvest of souls and revival. How are we to get ready? Repentance is the first step (Revelation 2-3). We have followed after idols and have become like the world. We have left our first love and become self-centered. We have forgotten who we are in Christ and the covenant that we have with the Father through Jesus and His finished work on the cross.
He has brought us into the secret place so we can develop intimacy and fellowship with Him. He called us to humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, and repent so that He could heal our land and bring us into the next step and calling for His Ekklesia, His church (2 Chronicles 7:14).
For in the time of trouble, He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle, He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD. Psalm 27:5 – 6
He wants to show us once again who He is as our covenant-keeping God during this time of COVID-19, just like He revealed Himself to the children of Israel as they came out of Egypt. He is Jehovah Jireh (the LORD will provide; Genesis 22:14); Jehovah Rapha – the LORD who heals you; Exodus 15:26); and Jehovah Nissi – (the LORD is my banner; victory; Exodus 17:15).
Many prophetic people and prophets today agree that we are in the season of the Third Great Awakening. We see in Acts 3:19-21 that after repentance and spiritual re-birth, times of refreshing can come. The refreshing in these verses refers to revival. During our daily walk with the Lord and crying out for more of His presence, He comes with a “suddenly” season with an outpouring of His Holy Spirit and miracles bringing revival to us, our families, cities, and nations. Earlier this year, in July, I shared about preparing our hearts for revival and that God would do something new that we had never seen before. Revival has begun. We have seen the beginning of revival breaking out in areas across the United States and other nations. We must continue in intercession and follow the leading of the Spirit. Https://alexiscarucci.com/2020/07/22/are-you-ready-for-revival/
I believe the Lord is bringing another Great Awakening and revival to the earth, such as we have never seen before. As we preach the Word, there will be signs and wonders to confirm the Word (Mark 16:20; Acts 4:30; 14:3; 15:12; Romans 15:18, 19; Hebrews 2:4) that will be greater and increased than in previous times (Isaiah 9:7; 54:2-4; Psalm 102:12-22; Acts 6:7; 15:15-18; Matthew 13:31, 32)!
We are in the days of the great harvest of souls, and the enemy is putting increased pressure on the saints, to deceive them, and to keep them from fulfilling God’s purpose for their lives (1 Peter 5:8-9). We are not to be unaware of his tactics (2 Corinthians 2:11). We must be believers who walk according to the Word of God and by His Spirit so that we do not fall into deception (1 Timothy 4:1).
Are you ready for increase, expansion, and enlargement (Isaiah 54:2-3)? We must come out of Babylon, which represents spiritual captivity (Revelation 18:4), and come to Zion, a place of freedom, protection, and restoration (Galatians 4:24-26; Hebrews 12:22-24). We can deliver ourselves (Isaiah 52:2; Zechariah 2:7)!
God’s plans are for an increase, and His kingdom is advancing. Are you ready to advance with Him? We are to do the work of the kingdom. We partner with Him to bring His kingdom to the earth (1 Corinthians 3:9; 12:27; 2 Corinthians 6:1). We are not to be barren but fruitful (Galatians 4:27; John 15:1-8). Take all the weapons, the authority, and position He has given you, and advance with His Armor on following the Holy Spirit!
Now is the accepted time, the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). Perhaps you have not received the eternal life God wants to give you through His Son Jesus Christ. He died for our sins and shed His blood on the cross to reconcile us and make peace with God. He was raised from the dead and ascended to the right hand of the Father in heaven. He is alive and has made way for us to be alive in Him.
That if you confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9-10, 13
Don’t miss this opportunity for the greatest and best decision of your life! If you would like to experience the love of God and to have peace with Him through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, you can receive Him right now. Remember, it is not words or prayer alone that will save you. Prayer is a way to reach out to the Lord and must be done in faith (completely trusting in Him alone to save you). He even gives us His faith (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 12:3). Christ will save you when you ask Him, believing that He will. Faith is not a feeling but merely believing God by taking Him at His Word, which allows you to receive His salvation gift. Pray these or your own words out loud:
Heavenly Father,
Your Word says that whoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved. I ask You to forgive me for my sins. I repent and turn from them and turn to You. I am calling on You and ask Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over my life. I believe that Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for me. I believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead, and He is alive today. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me the Holy Spirit to live inside of me. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and Your healing power in my life. I now belong to You. Help me to live for You and obey You all the days of my life.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Last month we looked at our God-given destiny. We need to awaken to our destiny before preparing or anticipating what God wants us to do next. We saw that It didn’t matter where we are in life at this moment because we can start walking towards our destiny today. Even if we didn’t use our time wisely this past year, have gotten sidetracked, waylaid, or stalled to move forward or walk in our destiny, God handles the impossible and has many ways to get us back on the path (Matthew 19:26).
We have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). God made us conquer the trials in life with His mind using His wisdom, solving problems with God because we have access to the mind of Christ. Therefore, we need to discern the source of the trials so we can gain God’s insight and understanding. In other words, what is coming against us, and where is it coming from? We can expect to experience roadblocks and hindrances since the devil doesn’t want us to fulfill our destiny.
So that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. Proverbs 2:2 – 5
Refer back to the teaching in February 2020 on Ask, Seek, Knock.
God often uses the delay of His promises to develop our character and prepare us for what is ahead. Sometimes a delayed promise is because the enemy is resisting, hindering, or blocking our forward movement, destiny, and what God has for us. There are seasons in our lives when God’s promises manifest and are the “now” times of prophetic fulfillment. We need to have an intimate relationship with the Lord to identify these times and agree with these declarations so we can move forward into a new season and receive what God has for our lives.
We must operate in the Issachar anointing so that we can understand and discern God’s prophetic times and work together with God’s tipping point in our lives as well as to intercede for others and nations. According to Merriam – Webster.com, a tipping point is the critical point in a situation, process, or system beyond which a significant and often unstoppable effect or change takes place. We must press into a tipping point moment through prayer, prophesying, and decreeing God’s Word until the breakthrough comes! Allow God to birth something new in your life as you pray in the Spirit (heavenly language, unknown tongues). Praying in the Spirit will increase your discernment of times and seasons and knowledge of what to do.
Issachar was one of the sons of Jacob and a patriarch of that tribe of Israel. Issachar’s sons understood the times and seasons and what Israel was to do (1 Chronicles 12:32). The Issachar anointing is the ability to discern spiritual times and understand how to respond that prophetic people should learn to operate in. It is our spiritual inheritance in Christ because all the blessings God gave Abraham and his descendants belong to us (Galatians 3:9, 13-14)! He is not a respecter of persons (Romans 2:11; Acts 10:34). The Holy Spirit dwells in us, and we can discern what God is doing and when He is doing it (1 Corinthians 2:11; Romans 8:27).
We are living in the days described by Isaiah, the prophet. As darkness increases in these last days, God’s light needs to shine, and His voice heard to dispel the darkness and release His glory. We are that prophetic voice! Now is the time to —
Arise, shine, for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. Isaiah 60:1 – 2
We must continue to look ahead and forget what is behind us (Philippians 3:12-16).
