God Has a Gift for You!

Christmas is about beholding the face of God in the Child Jesus in the manager (Colossians 1:15; Hebrews 1:3). Scriptures revealed the fulfillment of the long-awaited promise of the coming Messiah in Jesus Christ’s birth in Bethlehem. The Bible is a prophetic book, and the prophets proclaimed His coming throughout the Old Testament. God kept His promise by sending His Son Jesus at the appointed time. Jesus is God’s gift for us because of His great love.

“For  God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

God had a plan of redemption to restore our fellowship with Him.

“Therefore, the LORD Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14

Immanuel means God with us. God the Father sent His Son Jesus to earth to represent Him because Jesus is just like Him. Jesus said, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father” (John 14:9). He came to reveal God’s nature (His love, mercy, goodness, righteousness, kindness, etc.), His love for us and to restore our relationship with Him.

Jesus, who means Savior, salvation, came to save us. How incredible that the God of the universe became flesh to save us (John 1:1, 14)! Jesus was born to die. Salvation came through His shed blood and death on the cross as a sacrifice for humanity’s sins. The birth of Christ was just the first step in God’s redemptive plan for the world (Matthew 1:21; John 3:17; Luke 2:30, 19:10; Acts 4:13; Isaiah 12:2).

The good news of Christmas is that salvation is here! From Jesus’s birth until this time, God’s plan of salvation has been working throughout the earth in every nation, tongue, and tribe, bringing salvation, healing, and deliverance.

So, as we reflect on this Christmas season, the Bible reminds us that Jesus came into the world to save it, not to condemn it. Every step Jesus took was with us in mind. Jesus manifested God’s love and grace. God isn’t mad at you but madly in love with you (John 3:16–17; 15:9; Luke 19:10; 1 John 4:9–10)!

Jesus has made way for us to be forgiven for our sins and to have peace with God (Romans 5:10). Jesus willingly laid down His life on the cross and shed His blood to deliver us from the bondage of sin and to give us victory, favor, success, and everlasting and abundant life (John 15:13; 10:10).

The starting place to receive God’s love and forgiveness is through His Son, Jesus. Our featured verse tells us how wonderful Jesus is (Isaiah 9:6)! However, someone reading this blog may not know Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord.

If you haven’t yet experienced the joy of salvation, I would like to give you this opportunity to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. If you want to experience God’s love and have peace with Him through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, pray this suggested prayer out loud right now. You can also pray in your own words. Remember, it is not words or prayer alone that will save you. Prayer is a way to reach out to God, and it must be done in faith (completely trusting in Him to save you). Christ will save you if you pray these or similar words in faith.

Prayer to Receive Jesus as Savior

Heavenly Father,

Your Word says that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. I ask You to forgive me for my sins. I want to turn from them and turn to You. I am calling on You and asking Jesus to come into my heart and be the Lord of my life. I believe that Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for me. I believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead, and He is alive today. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me the Holy Spirit to live inside me. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and Your healing power in my life. I now belong to You. Help me to live for You and obey You all the days of my life.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

God, the Father, has given us the gift of Jesus and placed gifts within us that we are to share with the world. Today, take a moment to ask God how you can use your gifts for His purpose and to advance His kingdom in the world. God has placed a message inside us that the world needs to hear! I hear the Father saying, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Step out in faith and see the miracles I will do in and through you.”

May Christ’s love, peace, and joy be with you and your family this season.

Christmas Blessings and Happy Hanukkah! Let His Light shine through you!
