Our Heavenly Father has called us to make petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving for all men (1 Timothy 2:1–2). God desires that all men be saved and know the truth through Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 2:3–5; 2 Peter 3:9).
Now, I will show you how to enter heaven’s courts to petition and intercede for a loved one’s salvation. The format we will use today is my adaptation from the 5 Day Salvation Challenge teaching that Greg and Val Kurjata present monthly in a Private Facebook group page. I recommend you check it out at https://www.5dsc.ca or jchonline.ca/5dsc. You can use this exciting way to pray for family, friends, and others the Lord puts on your heart to petition and intercede for their salvation.
Many things in a person’s life can hinder them from coming to Christ, i.e., Satan can blind their minds to Jesus and His good news mentally and spiritually.
But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 2 Corinthians 4:3–4
Having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart. Ephesians 4:18
We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. 1 John 5:19–20
They may have a lack of knowledge about God or received false information about Him, had painful life experiences, or seen evil in the world that turned them away from God, or perhaps they came in contact with anti-God ideological thought systems, i.e., atheism, Satanism, etc. Maybe they experienced legalism, a set of rules and regulations which can lead to a paganistic view of God that we must do something to keep God from being angry at us. Remember, the Bible says God’s goodness leads men to repentance (Romans 2:4).
Stumbling blocks may stand in the way of seeing the truth about God, i.e., His love, mercy, grace, goodness, etc. Sometimes things that happen at a young age can affect their hearts and minds, such as watching a horror movie or pornography, reading horoscopes, going to a psychic, etc. How they respond to these events determines how much power the stumbling blocks will have over them.
Satan designs pits, traps, and snares to keep people from coming to the knowledge of God, i.e., the occult, idolatry, addictions, perversions, etc.
They may have framed a life experience by improperly blaming God, i.e., someone close to them who died, going through abuse or divorce, etc. We can go into the Courts of Heaven and obtain justice on their behalf related to all of the injustices surrounding these life experiences. An injustice can be unfair or something negative, or a trauma that happened to them.
We need the Holy Spirit’s help to discern the stumbling blocks and how to pray effectively for our loved one’s salvation. Discernment is rooted in compassion and moves us to pray.
When we petition the Courts of Heaven, we will mention the areas we believe Satan has blinded their mind and the stumbling blocks that need removal in the areas we see by experience and observation. Our petition, prayers, and intercession will clear the way for the Holy Spirit to convict them and draw them to the Father (John 6:44).
While preparing your petition, ask the Holy Spirit to give you insight, and think of past conversations and things they have said about God.
Have they been addicted to anything? Do they have a problem with anger? Have they had traumatic things happen to them? Have they been involved with witchcraft and the occult?
For every observation that the Holy Spirit brings to your remembrance, there will be a justice issue that needs dealing with, e.g., maybe they’ve suffered an injustice as a child through abuse. Or they’ve taken offense against God because they felt He let them down, or the anger that rises up is in response to a trauma they experienced.
When we petition God, the Righteous Judge, and the Court, we must also ask for judgment against any familiar evil spirits and for any legal claim they hold on their life to be nullified.
A familiar spirit is one assigned to your generational or familial bloodline that brings patterns, i.e., alcoholism, can’t keep a job, can’t stay married, etc., and thoughts, i.e., depression, sicknesses, etc., into a person’s life. The person may even hear this spirit speak to their thoughts in the first person, i.e., I will die before I’m 40 because all of the men in my family have died by that age, I will never get out of poverty, no one has ever gone to college in my family and neither will I, etc.
Continuing with our petition, we ask that the blood of Jesus would sever any ties between them and any evil spirits operating in their life and that the adversary would renounce his claim over their life and ask for the destruction of all works of the evil one in their life.
We are to pray without judgment (Matthew 7:1–5). Miriam-Webster.com defines judgment as the process of forming an opinion or evaluation by discerning and comparing. It is not our place to point out the faults of others. Finding fault is usually related to our fears, low self-worth, anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, jealousy, competition, etc.
Furthermore, when we pass judgment on someone else, we also pass judgment on ourselves because we do the same things, and our judgment comes back on us (Romans 2:1–4; Luke 6:36–38). When we have judgments against someone we are trying to pray for, it will hinder our prayers.
Refer to my teaching on Withdrawing Judgments in the Courts of Heaven on my YouTube channel or the Genesis Upper Room Church Facebook page, Youtube channel, or website encountergenesis.com.
To be judgmental or have a judgmental spirit means to have suspicion, make assumptions, read people through our own hurts, project things onto people, be critical of them without a heart of compassion and love, etc.
When we criticize or bring a wrongful judgment against someone, we curse them, judging unrighteously. Our words and judgments add to the testimony or outer scroll from life experiences that form around their life so that we can be part of the problem.
The outer scroll is our response to the circumstances in our life. The adversary attempts to get us off track from the intended testimony God has for us through these life circumstances. Our inner scroll is God’s written book about us in heaven, His planned testimony (Psalm 139:13–16; Psalm 40:7).
We are not to condemn people. Condemnation is the punishment attached to the judgment in a court case. Punishment is the penalty we think they deserve based on our judgment.
Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another? James 4:11–12
Steps to withdraw judgments in Court:
- Enter the court by faith and the blood of Jesus according to Hebrews 10:19–22, then wash the record of your life in the blood of Jesus to expose any wrong intent or attitude.
- Step up to the Clerk of the Court like the courts on earth because they follow the pattern in Heaven and acknowledge you have a judgment against the loved one you want to pray for.
- Repent for entering the judgment according to 1 John 1:9.
- Formally cancel and withdraw the judgment in the name of Jesus
- Remove any condemnation attached to the judgment in the name of Jesus
- Forgive them for any pain they may have caused
- We offer forgiveness because God has forgiven us fully and freely (Psalm 103:12; 1 Peter 3:12).
- We forgive so that God will forgive us (Matthew 6:14–15). God forgives us the same way we forgive others (Matthew 6:12).
- Forgiveness doesn’t mean minimizing the offense and pain it caused; God isn’t asking you to forget, and it doesn’t mean resuming a relationship without seeing a change in the other person’s life.[1]
- Unforgiveness causes us to live out of our pain and ungodly beliefs, which limits us. It affects our health, our relationships, and the ability to experience the abundant life Christ came to give us. We will never fulfill our destiny if we don’t forgive!
- Destroy the withdrawn judgments.
- Reach up and take the withdrawn judgments from the Clerk and destroy them however, you would like to, i.e., shredding them, destroying them in the fire, etc. See yourself doing this!
- If we were ending here, we would Bless their seeds of destiny (inner scroll – how God created them to function) to germinate, grow and be fruitful.
The petition (Fill out and prepare the petition)
- Tell the Judge and Court you want to present a petition for your loved one who needs salvation. This is where you can use the Word of God concerning God’s will for them to be saved and have their eyes opened so that they can turn from darkness to light, etc. (1 Timothy 2:4; Acts 26:18)
- State the areas where you see their mind is blinded and the stumbling blocks you are aware of by observation and experience that you want to be removed.
- Ask that any familiar spirits would be judged and any legal hold they claim nullified. The Court can then force any illegal tenants living in their life to leave.
- Ask for justice for the injustices they have suffered in their past that you are aware of
- Ask the Lord to be merciful and save them. You can also state Scripture here as to why you believe God is answering your petition, i.e., Mark 11:24; John 16:23–24; 1 John 5:14–15).
- Ask the Holy Spirit if this petition needs to include anything else. Wait for any answers or impressions that come and add them if needed. Remember, the Holy Spirit is present to help us with our petition, and we must follow and obey Him.
- Wait for the Spirit’s witness before leaving the courtroom. He will give you a witness in your spirit when the ruling you seek has been granted.
- If you don’t receive His witness, ask Him “Why?” and follow His leading
- Receive the ruling by faith and thank the Lord for ruling in their favor.
- Take the ruling in your hand, receive it into your spirit, and bring it down upon the earth as you step back onto it, releasing it onto the earth where they are and live.
- Execute this ruling in the name of Jesus as a son of God with Divine authority in the function of the right hand of God on earth.
- Then ask the Lord to send the angels to enforce the ruling in their life and to destroy the works of the devil around them completely.
- Thank the Lord for saving them and ask Him to send laborers to them so they could hear and respond to God’s love for them in the name of Jesus!
- Bless their seeds of destiny and mention the areas you have recognized, i.e., gifts, talents, prophetic words, etc.
- The Holy Spirit gives natural and spiritual gifts (Genesis 1:26; Job 33:4; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11). The Spirit can take the natural gifts and talents God created us with (i.e., for music, art, leadership, building, speaking, etc.), reveal them, direct them for His Glory, and cause them to reach their full potential (Exodus 31:3-6).
It is important to start seeing your loved ones as saved and as God sees them. Thank the Lord for His work in their lives. When we pray, we believe that we receive by faith according to Mark 11:24. If the Holy Spirit directs you to pray or add something, follow His lead.

Before going into the heavenly Courts, take a moment to repent for any known or unknown sin and ask the Lord to forgive you.
Prayer and Petition in the Courts of Heaven for your Loved One’s Salvation
Heavenly Father, Righteous Judge, I come boldly before Your throne of grace by faith and the blood of Jesus to receive mercy and grace to help. I thank you for the body and blood of Jesus, which gives me access to the Courts of Heaven. I ask that the Court Of Heaven be seated to hear my case in the name of Jesus and for the books to be opened.
Heavenly Father, as I stand before You in Court, I am here with the Holy Spirit, my Advocate and Counselor. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for helping me present my case before the court.
I step up to the Clerk of the Court and acknowledge that I have made a judgment or judgments about _______ (say their name).
I repent for registering these judgments according to 1 John 1:9, which says that if I confess my sin, You are faithful and just to forgive me of my sins and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness.
I want to cancel and formally withdraw these judgments in the name of Jesus and would like to remove their effects from their life and my own.
I release __________ (say their name) from all condemnation attached to these judgments in the name of Jesus Christ.
I forgive ________ (say their name) for any pain they may have caused.
I thank You for canceling these withdrawn judgments. I now take them and destroy them (reach out your hand or arms to take them from the Clerk of the Court, and destroy the withdrawn judgments any way you choose (see yourself doing this).
Heavenly Father, Righteous Judge, I am here to present a petition for ____________ (say your loved one’s name) who needs salvation. I thank You that it is Your will for them to be saved and have their eyes opened so they can turn from darkness to light.
I believe their mind has been blinded in these areas:_______ (name them from your list).
I believe they also have stumbling blocks that need removing in the following areas: ________ (name them from your list).
I ask this court to cause any familiar spirits at work in their life to renounce any legal hold they claim on their life, and these claims would be nullified. I ask that the power of the blood of Jesus would sever any ties between _________________ (say your loved one’s name) and any evil spirits. I am asking for a judgment against these evil spirits to set my loved one free.
I ask that You send Your angels now to remove any stumbling blocks and offenses hindering them from coming to know God and walking in their God-given purpose.
Heavenly Father, Righteous Judge, I also ask for justice for all of the circumstances and injustices surrounding their life that formed their belief system and caused them to behave in a way that doesn’t align with how You created them to function so that they can be healed and free.
I am aware of the following circumstances and injustices; _________ (name them from your list).
Holy Spirit, I ask that You would heal them with Your Dunamis power according to Acts 10:38 from any wound, trauma, stress, or circumstance that has driven them away from the true knowledge of God through His Son Jesus Christ.
Father, I thank You for drawing them by Your Spirit according to John 6:44. Lord, be merciful, forgive their sins, and save them. I thank You that Your Word says You are not willing that any should perish, but all should come to repentance.
Holy Spirit, is there anything else I need to include in this petition? (include whatever the Holy Spirit reveals to you).
Thank You, Father, for ruling in their favor.
I receive this ruling into my spirit (reach out and take the ruling), bring it down into the earth realm, and release it into their life. I execute it on their behalf as a son of God with Divine authority.
I thank You for releasing Your angels to enforce this ruling in their life swiftly and to destroy the works of the devil around them entirely.
Thank You, Lord, for saving them. I pray that You would send laborers to them so they could hear and respond to Your love for them in the name of Jesus! I Bless their seeds of destiny (mention the areas you have recognized from your list). May they germinate and grow as (say your loved one’s name) responds to Your love and the power of the Holy Spirit.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
