The favor of God will change your life! When God’s favor or Blessing is upon your life, amazing things begin to happen, such as doors of opportunity will open up for you, and you will end up with benefits and Blessings that you haven’t earned or deserved. Did you know that as a believer in Jesus Christ, you have the favor of God? He showed His favor toward us when He saved us.
For by grace, you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8
God’s favor or grace is Him giving us the ability to do something we could not do for ourselves. It is supernatural, and it can’t be earned. Therefore, His grace is the unmerited favor of God, and the way to receive His favor is by faith, just like we receive all of His gifts.
His favor saves us, and I’m not just talking about going to heaven when we die. The Greek word Soteria means salvation, and the Greek root is Sozo: to deliver, protect, heal, preserve, do well, be whole and make whole (see Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, Greek dictionary 4982). So God’s favor covers every area of our lives and begins when we receive Jesus as our Savior and Lord.
If you have not yet received Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you can do that right now and begin your journey of walking in God’s favor. You can experience God’s love, peace, reconciliation by the blood of Jesus, the power of His resurrection, and have a personal relationship with Him. Pray this suggested prayer out loud right now. You can also pray in your own words. Remember, it is not words or prayer alone that will save you. Prayer is a way to reach out to the Lord and must be done in faith (completely trusting in Him to save you). Christ will save you if you pray these or similar words in faith. He even gives you the faith to believe!
Heavenly Father,
Your Word says that whoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved. I ask You to forgive me for my sins. I repent and want to turn from them and turn to You. I am calling on You and ask Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over my life. I believe that Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for me. I believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead, and He is alive today. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me the Holy Spirit to live inside of me. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and Your healing power in my life. I now belong to You. Help me to live for You and obey You all the days of my life.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
If you prayed for salvation in faith, you are now a child of God and are in His family (John 1:12; Romans 8:16). Go to my website and check out some steps on how to grow in your relationship with Him! https://alexiscarucci.com/welcome-to-gods-family/
Many Christians don’t experience God’s favor surrounding them because they don’t know it belongs to them, so they don’t take advantage of what He has given them. Yet, we have already been made righteous through Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21). God is always looking for someone to pour out His blessings upon (2 Chronicles 16:9). That is His nature. He will pour out His grace and favor upon your life if you receive it!
Favor is when someone uses their power, ability, influence, and wealth on your behalf. Thus, we can have favor with both God and man. We need His favor to fulfill our destiny. Therefore, it is essential to eliminate things that repel God’s favor and learn how to attract His favor.
We can attract the favor of God, all day and every day, by seeking Him (Psalm 119:58). Another way to obtain favor from the Lord is through good understanding and to seek wisdom (Proverbs 8:35; 13:15). God gives grace (favor) to the humble (James 4:6). Rest brings God’s favor. The first person mentioned in the Bible to receive God’s grace or favor was Noah (Genesis 6:8). Noah was a preacher of righteousness, and his name means rest (2 Peter 2:5). In other words, rest met favor!
Jesus is our rest, and we enter our rest by ceasing from our own works and strength. We are to enter into our rest through the finished work of Christ. Jesus never did His own works or operated in His power but only did His Father’s works through the power of the Holy Spirit. We are to rest in Christ’s finished work. Therefore, God’s favor comes to those who live by faith, trust in Him, walk in His strength, might, and power, and only do what they see the Father do and ceases from their own works (Hebrews 4:10; Jeremiah 17:5 – 8).
Favor means goodwill, but it isn’t only about someone doing something good for us. In Hebrew, the word favor means favor, grace, stoop in kindness, acceptable, accepted, delight, and pleasure. Thus, favor is the opposite of rejection. Righteousness releases God’s favor which can protect you (Psalm 5:12). Favor will make your life more pleasurable and delightful. We will still have tests and trials in life, but His favor can shield us from a difficult, miserable, annoyed, and painful life.
Favor is connected to the glory, which is God’s presence, Majesty, and light (Isaiah 60:1). We are glory carriers, and we can access the glory realm through worship (2 Corinthians 3:18; Colossians 1:27).
Look for His blessings everywhere, i.e., in breakthrough, promotion, increase, peace, healing, deliverance, etc. (Amos 9:13-15). He appoints a set time for our favor because we are His people (Psalm 102:13).
Read and meditate on His Word concerning His favor. The verses don’t have to have the word favor in them but speak about His Blessings and promises for us. Here are some verses to get you started: Deuteronomy 1:11; 28:1-14; Psalm 1:3; 23:5; 92:10; 112:3; 115:14, etc. Next, pray daily for God’s supernatural favor to be upon your life, and begin thanking the Lord for His favor in every area of your life. Then look and expect to see His favor! You can pray for favor from both God and man. Use the power of your voice to activate heaven and favor in your life! Declare and decree His favor over you. For example,
“I am the righteous, and the Lord surrounds me with His favor like a shield!”
“I am surrounded by favor!”
“I have favor with both God and man.”
“I have an abundance of favor.”
“My cup runs over with favor.”
“I walk in the path of favor.”
“I have a lifetime of favor.”
“I always increase in favor.”
“Favor is my portion in life.”
““I am ready to step through every door of favor and influence God opens for me!”
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. 2 Peter 1:2
Now to Him, who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Ephesians 3:20
