Established in Him!

It is God who establishes and anoints us. He is the stability of our times.

Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times and the strength of salvation; the fear of the LORD is His treasure. Isaiah 33:6

Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God. 2 Corinthians 1:21

Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just; For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds. Psalm 7:9

In righteousness, you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you. Isaiah 54:14

He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. Psalm 40:2

“Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” 2 Chronicles 20:20b.

Sterizo is the Greek word for established. It means to make stable, place firmly, strengthen, make firm, set fast, fix, render constant, confirm (see Thayer’s Greek Lexicon; Strong’s #4741).

He wants to establish His Word in our lives.

Establish Your Word to your servant, who is devoted to fearing You. Psalm 119:38

You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways. Job 22:28

For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16 – 17

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. 2 Corinthians 1:20

He wants us to have a firm foundation in Christ Jesus. When our foundation is solid, we can build on it, and it will stand (Matthew 7:24-27;  1 Corinthians 3:11; Isaiah 28:16). Every part of our lives should be established in Him, our hearts, faith, plans, spiritual gifts, etc.

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established. Romans 1:11

Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and He will establish your plans. Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)

As you, therefore, have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6 – 7

For this reason, I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth. 2 Peter 1:12

Jesus tells us to strengthen (establish) the things that are ready to die.

“Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.” Revelation 3:2 – 3

We are to live for Him, not for ourselves or as the world lives. We are to work the works of the Father just like Jesus did (John 9:4). Our works will be judged, and we will be rewarded for our work for the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 3:8, 13-16; 2 Chronicles 15:7; Romans 2:6; Revelation 22:12).

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit. Ephesians 2:19 – 22

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work. 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you, so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints. 1 Thessalonians 3:12 – 13

May the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen and settle you. 1 Peter 5:10

Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith – to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen. Romans 16:25 – 27
