Are you living the abundant life Jesus came to give you? Maybe you need His healing touch or to be set free from repeated failures, debt elimination and provision, or you need His peace, wisdom or joy. Whatever you need, He has made a way for you to experience all that He is and has for you. Jesus is everything we will ever need. Throughout the Gospels, Jesus declared who He was. He came to reveal the Heavenly Father (John 14:9-11). This was new to the Jewish people. God had revealed Himself to Moses as “I AM” when he was sent to deliver the Children of Israel from the bondage of Egypt.
Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?” And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.'” Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My Name for ever, and this is My memorial to all generations.'” Exodus 3:13 – 15 (NKJV)
Let’s look at who Jesus is:
“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your souls. Matthew 11:29 (NKJV)
And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. John 6:35 (NKJV)
“I am the bread of life. John 6:48 (NKJV)
“I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.” John 6:51 (NKJV)
“I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.” John 8:12 (NKJV)
And He said to them, you are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.” John 8:23 (NKJV)
“Do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God?’” John 8:36 (NKJV)
Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” John 8:58 (NKJV)
“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” John 9:5 (NKJV)
Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.” John 10:7 (NKJV)
“I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep.” John 10:11 (NKJV)
Jesus said to her,“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” John 11:25 (NKJV)
“You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am.” John 13:13 (NKJV)
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6 (NKJV)
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. John 15:1, 5 (NKJV)
“Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matthew 28:20 (NKJV)
“I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8 (NKJV)
And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of death. Revelation 1:17, 18 (NKJV)
He will lead, guide, comfort us, and show us what to do! He is our life. He gave His life so we could live forever with Him.He has everything covered from beginning to end.
Jesus asked His disciples in Mark 8:29; “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and said to Him, “You are the Christ.” Jesus is asking you, “Who do you say that I am”? What would you tell Him?
Jesus wants to have a relationship with us. He made a way to reconcile us to the Father through the fininshed work of the cross (Colossians 1:19, 20). The more we get to know Jesus in a personal way, the more we will experience His grace (unmerited, undeserved, unearned favor), healing, provision and abundant life!
Everything that God the Great I Am is can be found in Jesus. He is our health and our Healer, our Redeemer, our Deliverer and deliverance; our provision and Provider! Whatever you need, He is I AM what you need Me to be. Look to Him and you will not be disappointed.
Here are some verses where God says I Am: Genesis 17:1; Exodus 6:2; 15:26; 22:27; 34:6; Psalm 46:10; Isaiah 41:10; 42:8; 43:11-13; 44:24; 51:12; Malachi 3:6.
